During a three month residency at Witte Rook Breda, I discovered the history of the building. The space operated as a school for the worst kids, they stayed behind bars, far away from society. By interviewing former teachers, finding pictures at the national archive of Breda, I showed an abstract view on this heavy history in shape and colour. Colour works as a domestic code that refers to this, and plays with its physical scale in relation to pictorial space, called reality.
